The Award Competition Deadline has Past.
PERK will award $75 for the
best manuscript in each of 4 categories (1 award per category). If a
winning paper has multiple authors, the award check will be made out to
the first author. The categories
are:

Outstanding
Undergraduate Empirical Paper

Outstanding Undergraduate
Theoretical/Literature Review Paper
-
Outstanding Graduate Empirical
Paper
-
Outstanding Graduate
Theoretical/Literature Review Paper
Papers submitted for the paper
competition must also be submitted for presentation at the conference.
The deadline for submitting an entry to the paper competition is October
16th.
Students must register for the conference and submit their paper online before emailing
their papers. Registration includes student membership. Students must also include the name and email address of
the faculty member who reviewed and approved your paper prior to
submission.
Manuscripts MUST be
written in
APA
format (either the 5th or 6th edition) and
saved in Word (either in
.doc or .rtf format). Do not "save as" in .docx format. All identifying information, such as author(s)
names or name of institution must be removed from the manuscript before
submitting.
How to
Submit Your Paper:
To
submit the manuscript: email your paper to
psych@firiends.edu
by October 16th.
The subject heading
of your email MUST include the following:

first
author's name, status (graduate or undergraduate), and category
(empirical or non-empirical)
For example, Stephen Davis, graduate, empirical
The body of the
email MUST include the following:
-
a statement that
by submitting the paper for competition, you have also
registered for the PERK conference
and are committed to present your paper as either an oral
presentation or poster. Finally, DON'T FORGET to
submit your presentation online.

name and email
address of the faculty member who has reviewed and approved your
paper submission.

Not following
these directions can delay your entry.
The paper will then be saved in pdf format and forwarded for
judging. Students may download a copy of the paper awards form (below).
